Newport’s Asset Announces Further Growth
Leading Newport-based water management solutions provider, Asset International Ltd (Asset), has made three new appointments as it continues its strategic growth plans.
Asset, part of UK-based infrastructure, building and construction products group Hill & Smith Holdings Plc, has recruited Ryan Brewster as logistics coordinator and Gareth Green as technical sales engineer, while current employee Lori Redwood's role as sales administrator has grown substantially.
Ryan Brewster, Asset's new logistics coordinator, has a strong background in the area having spent over 13 years in the steel and microchip industry for Alphasteel and ArvinMeritor. Ryan assumes responsibility for project logistics, including coordinating transport, haulage and tracking prices for all Asset projects.
Gareth Green brings further technical experience in manufacturing, following an apprenticeship in mechanical engineering from his previous company Wooded Connectivity, to his role as technical sales advisor. Gareth spent 11 years with Wooded Connectivity in Ebbw Vale, during which time he also studied for an HNC in mechanical engineering. Gareth takes responsibility for taking orders and for calculations that assess the flotation and thermodynamics of the piping in addition to providing technical advice to customers and visiting customer sites.
Lori Redwood, 19, has been with Asset since she left school two years ago as sales administrator. Her role has now grown to incorporate direct sales tasks as a result of the experience she has acquired. Recently Lori has been solely responsible for generating sales in excess of £150,000 per month. Lori has also undertaken an NVQ level 2 in business and administration while working at Asset.
In addition to her role offering support throughout the whole sales team, she now also handles global sales. Joining the company at the young age of 17, Lori is keen to build on her experience and is set to undertake a business course in the near future with the support of Asset.
Simon Thomas, managing director at Asset, said "It is such a pleasure to welcome three young and dynamic personalities into crucial roles within the company. The opportunities are a reflection of our rapid growth and come at a time when we are at our busiest, following the opening of our new production line and fabrication facility in June 2008.
"It's pleasing to see employees like Lori progress in their roles and take on new challenges. Several of our employees have taken an apprenticeship or on-the-job training route and this is something we have built the company around. We reward hard work and dedication and really value the skills learnt in the workplace."
